Last year I wrote a blog post where NC State Libraries' Special Collections Research Center staff shared their favorite images from our Rare and Unique Digital Collections. I'm now sharing a follow up where I've asked our student staff about their favorites. Our digital archives has nearly 1.5 million assets, so student staff had a lot to choose from, including ones they themselves have scanned or processed.

Shima Hosseininasab, Graduate Assistant: "I love the sketches of human figures in action in this architectural drawing."

Bellfonte Country Club -- Addition Rendering, 1958

Lev Rosenberger, Graduate Assistant: "I discovered this while working on a project on NCSU's LGBTQ history and since it's pride month it could be appropriate. This was the first public event that NC State Gay Community student group organized."

Gay Awareness Day at the NCSU Student Center flyer, 1981

Alanna Natanson, Graduate Desk/Digitization Assistant: "The cover for this program reminds me of some of my favorite Norman Rockwell paintings, deftly telling a sweet story about the emotional roller coaster of watching an NC State football game."

Ashley Anderson, Digitization Assistant: "I was surprised to learn that this diagram is more than 70 years old. It reminds me of the maps students in the College of Design make now! One detail I appreciate is the subtle shading behind the arrows; so simple but nice to read."

Diagram of Museum Services: Material for circulating exhibits, circa 1940

Carrie Wilson, SCRC Graduate Desk Assistant: " I only just discovered this image through searching for the Animal Turn project in the Rare & Unique Digital Collections. I love it because it shows how compassion towards animals extends through different generations."
